[RFID - scanner](https://support.seventhings.com/migration/en/scanner?hsLang=en#rfid-scanner) # "How to RFID" ## We present you a guide on how to uses our RFID-test-kit and get an overview over the technology. ---   You have received your RFID-test-kit from us and are now ready to start!  We have put together a guide for you here so that you are best prepared:   ### What do you receive from us? - RFID-scanner (model RFD8500) - RFID labels **on metal and** - RFID labels **on furniture** Tip: more information about our labels can be found **[here.](https://support.seventhings.com/en/which-type-of-labels-do-we-have-in-use?hsLang=en)**   ### How are mobile devices paired? The scanners are paired with the respective smartphone via Bluetooth: - Turn on the RFID scanner - Now press and hold the Bluetooth symbol on the left side of the scanner. This should now flash blue evenly. ![](https://support.seventhings.com/hs-fs/hubfs/undefined-Jun-30-2022-09-32-08-24-AM.png?width=197&name=undefined-Jun-30-2022-09-32-08-24-AM.png) - Navigate to the settings of your smartphone - Select "Bluetooth" and activate it - Find the RFID scanner in the list of available devices and select it: - iOS: - Android scanner: - (You don't need to allow the access to your contacts and call history) - As soon as a connection is established, the Bluetooth icon of the RFID scanner **flashes blue quickly** - **Now press the fast blue flashing Bluetooth icon** of the RFID scanner to confirm the pairing - a confirmation sound will confirm the connection - The Bluetooth icon should now be **solid blue** ### **How do you log in to the app?** - First download the ITEXIA app from the app store. - Log in to the app. We show you how to do this**[here](https://support.seventhings.com/en/how-can-i-log-in-to-the-app?hsLang=en)** - for iOS: open the app and go to the settings menu **"Advanced"**, external scanner **"RFID".**       - Select "Bluetooth Scanner" and the RFID scanner that was previously connected via Bluetooth will be shown in the list and you can select it - for an android scanner:   ### What is there to consider? - If the RFID scanner does not connect the first time. Turn Bluetooth off and on once and try again. - Make sure that your smartphone is not connected to any other devices via Bluetooth. If this is the case, disconnect the connection before you start pairing the RFID scanner.   ### Where and how should the labels be applied? - The **on furniture** labels are suitable for furniture and non-metallic objects - The **on metal** labels are suitable for metal objects - Make sure that the surface is **clean, dry and free of grease** - **Adhesive recommendation:** - Attach the labels best where you want to stick your labels later, for example: - For tables, the underside of the tabletop, left side, is suitable. - For laptops/monitors it is best to place the labels next to the serial number. ### How to scan? - Once you have stuck all RFID tags, downloaded the app and paired the RFID scanner, you can start scanning. - First, select a location and room in the pre-selection - Now press and hold the trigger of the RFID scanner - The captured objects are now displayed in the app: ### What to expect? - It may happen that not all labels are captured the first time - Press the trigger again and you can repeat the scanning process as many times as you like   **Tip:** Make sure that there are as few metallic objects as possible between the scanner and the objects to be scanned. -
